Alright guys Is there anybody who has converted the old ruger carbines which were made from mid 70's to the early 80's to the 500 smith and wesson. Its been an idea i would like to act on, any suggestions or gun smiths who have the abilty to do the conversion and is it possable, do to the pressure of the round. Thanks Matt Simply, Elegant but always approachable

My first Centerfire rifle was a Ruger Deerstalker. I shot that rifle a bunch for sure. I just do not think it is feasible [I guess most anything is possible] to make it into a 500 S&W. I just do not think the Ruger is strong enough. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I don't have one here to check right now, but I believe they have a tubular magazine which would not hold the 500. If you could do it, it would be very expensive.
