I was wondering if the old classic rifle makers like Holland and Holland, John Rigby and G&H produced custom rifles utilizing the original military stocks, modified of course. I would like to see some examples, I thought I've seen some in the past but am unable to find any pics.

Do you mean Military stock or Armory stock? G&H and others all remolded the stocks found on the 1922 and the 1903 NRA sporters.

There were a lot of military stocks remolded before WWI, most were made by people we never heard of and they were not well done as a general rule.

Certainly not Holland's I can assure you! Cogswell and Harrison and Parker Hale sold re-modelled "Enfield" Pattern '14 or USA Model of 1917 rifles with the military stock re-profiled and as an option entirely replaced. These were also available from BSA.

Search out BSA Model E on the internet. Parker Hale also sold Enfiled SMLE rifles with the military stock re-profiled as did the firm of E J Churchill (more know for the Churchill XXV).

However Holland's did of course set up the sniper No4(T) Lee Enfield in WWII. But sell a re-worked military surplus rifle with a re-worked military stock? Never!

Here is a G&H that took a different direction, the who and why might never be learned.

This is not the only rifle I have seen like this, the others are by unknown makers.

From the Mark Benenson collection.

I've often thought of doing this...minus the fancy checkering on that (I like it.)

These are a BSA Model E above a Model D. The Model C retained the military stock which was re-worked and didn't have the bottom metal flattened out as do the D and E shown below:
