This is my first attempt at getting pics to load up. I am a better stockmaker than a photographer...although I have been getting help in that area too.

The client asked for a special checkering pattern with ribbons. Conventional but with non- conventional aspects.

The finish is Pro Custom Oil liquid. About 30 coats. The reflection of the camera makes it less desirable in appearance than it really is. Plus, I need a better lighting system to take better pics.

Pretty nice rifle except for that "plain Jane" checkering pattern! Wink

Seriously, gorgeous job!

DES: Is that a cover plate for the standard fore end screw or did you modify the attachment? Classy job.

It is a cover plate I made from bar stock. The rifle is the subject of a Stock RX GUNMAKER article I wrote. I just learned how to post pics so AR was the test site for my efforts using this project.

The stock is outstanding and the ribbons are positively over the top.

Gunmaker magazine is a publication of the ACGG. As an Associate Member or Professional Member it is free. The article has to deal with making silk purses from less than perfect materials. Hope you like what I came up with this time.

Surprising--I'd guess "Killartist" is not a very common name. Is it German?

Dennis, beautiful work. Love the ribbons. I won a trap door screw cover for the forend for a Ruger #1 at the Guild show in Reno about 10 years ago. One of those bucket ticket items if I remember right. Have a #1 I am going to install it on soon. I like your treatment.

Great work. Best looking of all single shot rifles, including those that are much more expensive, I have 2 custom #1s.

I don't like the ribbons, although they may grow on me. I freely admit, I'm not paying for the work, but, oh, it is beautiful.

Artistry.
