This is a 257 Roberts I built in the mid 80s. I've enjoyed finding this forum and seeing the great works of art displayed. Stockbuilding is a hobby of me. thanks elton

Elton - All I can say is you do some darn nice work. Only wish I had that kind of talent. There is however, one big problem with that gun - it's not mine.

That's very nice.

Did you rebarrel the rifle , was it originally a 257?

Elton

I agree with Vapodog. A marvelous piece of wood.

Is that your pattern (did you make that stock by hand from a blank), or was that stock turned on a machine to a pattern blank?

I got a over sized pattern and then shaped to my dimensions. then sent it back to J. Earl Bridges who cut the stock for me from my pattern. Works great and I used Jerry Fisher stock as a basic pattern and I added cast-off .Mr Goens , and Bison were also inspirations.

Thanks from branson,
I picked the rifle up at the tulsa gunshow. The dealer said Clayton Nelson rebarreled the gun It was in factory featherweight stock. I bought the wood from Willie at Champlin Arms. thanks elton
