Sharing a Remington 03-A3 build I recently completed. The original 30 GOV 1906 barrel was turned down to a lightweight profile by me and banded accessories added. The action was polished up and square bridge mounts fabricated and soldered on. Bottom metal is Wiebe's which had the depth decreased. Stock is of my style, built to the customers provided dimensions using a well designed piece of Australian Walnut from Roger Vardy. The rifle finished at 6lbs 10oz with its 23" barrel, unscoped. Its a delight to handle, petite in the hands, comfortable to carry all day afield, and built for business!

Since delivery it has gone abroad to Namibia and accounted for a few Duiker, Steenbok, and a Jackal. It has many more trips in store.

Love the dimensions and style of that rifle... a joy to carry in the field to be sure.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

I too think its a thing of beauty. "All of a piece" as they say.

But as some people say about stock wood - because your going to put so much money into the labor of crafting a custom stock why would you want to use a plain piece of wood. Is it the same for metal work. I am not sure why the owner chose an 03-A3 to use for his investment in a custom rifle.

Haven't seen many 03-A3's used as a custom platform.
And.. not many would consider even to give it a go. Hapoy to see Aaron willing to bite the bullet and it turned into a handsome rifle. Good job!

Nice! I would never have thought of just turning down the original barrel.

A beautiful little rifle, but a hell of a lot of rifle to use for the tiny ones.

Beautiful work!

Personally I love the 03, and have done several, though absolutely none of them to that caliber!

Well done!
