| I would use a 1933-1934 "post office" Oberndorf or a 1935 Chilean or Brazilian Oberndorf, for the banner and Oberndorf stampings and proofs. Other pre-war military contract Mausers will work too, as would some commercial Mausers. A 404 would be a better choice for a standard length.
