The forestocks are integrated under each barrel. For that price, you could get a full set (double, bolt, single-barrel breakdown, falling block and shotgun pair) from Hartmann & Weiss. Oh hell, I just noticed it's a push feed, I don't want it now. Have a look at the photo of the bolt shroud and rear tang area (the photo just above the chicken foot). The same guy who worked at the Sabatti factory 'regulating' the barrels with his Dremel seems to now work at this factory. I guess for $820K, I'd expect round holes and maybe iron sights. For $820,000 you could have a nice house in Texas, a full bag 28 day African safari, and a new Ferrari. Muzzle clearly shows rifled tube inserts in a damascus shell. I don't get the lynch mob mentality that surfaces when these threads (crocodile) pop up. I doubt there is one poster here that hasn't paid extra on some purchase purely for stylistic or symbolic embelishment. It's all just a matter of scale of one's income.

The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. Well its tasteless and not very suitable for anything other than looking at I suppose. A run of the mill Blaser R-93 or R-8 is something you can shoot and then go hunting with. More money than brains I would think. Then again that would be SOP for Saudis. | |||

There are much better ways to spend $820K on guns. I'd buy a pair of Westley Richards bolts, a pair of Holland and Holland bolts, a pair of Hartmann and Weiss, a pair of Duane Weibe's masterpieces, a pair of Sterling Davenport customs, a pair of Krieghoff shotguns, a pair of Perazzi shotguns and still have enough money left over for several hunting trips. The price of knowledge is great but the price of ignorance is even greater. | |||

Hmm Let's see. Spend an absurd amount of money on a rifle. Take it on a no expense spared safari with enough staff support to even embarass Obama. Let a gunbearer carry your gun because it is undignified for someone of your status to do so. During the course of the hunt said gunbearer slips on some rocks and dents the wood and maybe gets a few scratches from thorn bushes. Owner justifies his shooting of the gunbearer and local authorities agree it was justifiable after learning of the purchase price. If you think this scenario is absurd just remeber money can let you get away with murder. Just ask OJ. | |||

The kind of person who would buy this kind of rifle is the same as one who insists on a rhino horn handle on his dagger. I won't say who that would be, but he lives somewhere on the Arabian penninsula. The London gun trade stayed in business selling rifles and guns by the carloads to India in the first part of the XX century. Now that the money has migrated elsewhere, guns are being built to appeal to different tastes. The falcon motif is the tip-off. | |||
