My pleasure, Duane. This is a stag I shot in Patagonia. My guide, Tito Gonzalez, and I are the humans. The rifle is an original Gibbs-Farquharson customized by Mark Penrod, Paul Hodgins and the late Ralph Bone, who did the engraving. It's marked ".275 Flanged" and was originally too short-throated for my tastes. Matthew Roberts lengthened the throat so that it would more reliably accept longer and heavier bulleted loads. The ammunition and brass are easy enough to obtain. Thankfully, it seems that one can get nearly anything these days. Here's the other one I shot in Argentina. These are both free-range animals. If I recall correctly, I shot them both at around 100-125 yards. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer. | |||
