Al Lind was and has been my mentor for over 30 years. Yes, Al is alive. However, age and dementia has set in. He is no longer working on guns. He has dropped his FFL. He is still a founding member of the ACGG. I spoke with him last month. It took a while for him to recognize me over the phone.

Yes. He is quite a nice guy and had a real good sense of humor the last time I talked to him over the phone. I treasure the rifle he built, hunted for many years (he couldn't remember how many) then sold to me a handful of years ago. It is one of my greatest treasures. I also have another Lind, a rare Grisel actioned build. I bought it as simply a Grisel actioned rifle (paid $4,000) and was happily surprised to see Al's stamp inside. So sorry to hear of the dementia. At least he is still "ticking".
