my current project is remaking a little #4 rem rolling block i've got the metalwork done making it into a 22 mag.. i have a nice streaked blank of turkish walnut normanly i use a cheekpiece but this is a rather small guy so my question is to use a small cheekpiece or to leave it off

Are you sure that small action is up to a .22 mag?

Were it me, I would leave the cheekpiece off, as I think it would visually distract from the action.
