Found that on the doublegunshop forum.
The picture shows a Mauser based rifle. Looking like a commercial action(at least pear shaped bolt handle).
Interesting is , so far I can see , they used a magazine box of Argentine 09 or 1904 Portuguese type (smaller triggerguard bow, longer latch of the hinged floorplate).
The "normal" commercial magazine box with the release button in the trigger guard bow can be seen in a picture below on that thread.
I am interested to know if that ensemble (action and magazine box) was used so early for building a custom rifle
and if so ,where came these actions from.

I don't know for a fact where the action came from but a lot of them found with ex-Hoffman folks came from the Hoffman stock.

This action is different than most of the Hoffmans because there are no numbers anywhere on the action. Hoffman removed most of the Mauser markings but on some left the number on the bottom flat.

Michael: The lines of the Wright stock with carving bordering the checkering in the other thread are eeerily similar to the lines of the Bob Owen stock that Hallowell currently has for sale. Particularly the lines of the cheek piece.
My first thought when seeing the picture was it looked like a Bob Owen rifle. But I couldn't recall any Owen stocks I've seen pictured having carved motifs with the checkering.

I have seen a couple of Bob Owen stocks with other people's or company names on them but this is not one of them.

Two that come to mind were VL&D and and F.L. Hoffman.

I would like to come back to the question who supplied the commercial market with actions.
It is commonly reported that only Mauser in Oberndorf sold actions to the commercial market.

The magazine box in concern (Argentine 09 Type) was solely produced by the DWM company.

It seems extremely unlikely that there were any "surplus " 09 actions around that could be used by the riflemakers.
The adoption by the armies was not too long agoe.
There is one rifle reported that shows the DWM markings and the 09 box

I recently revealed another one (German made commercial)which dated to the Pre WWI period using the same magazine box , the action shows no markings.

So the question remains if DWM also supplied the commercial market with actions.
