I just finished reading Mr. Petrov's books 1 and 2 on custom gunmakers. That was probably the most interesting reading I've done in a long time. I really understand better the loss to custom gunsmithing of his knowledge and dedication. I highly recommend these books to anyone with an interest in custom rifles and their history.

Anyone know where volume II may be obtained? Perhaps his family still has a few copies? NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

Great Northern Guns in Anchorage has a few copies left or they did a couple of weeks ago when I was in. 907-563-3006. Mart "...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks."
