A new gunsafe queen..

Nice rifle in a potent no-nonsens caliber. Will do most in either short or longer distances. I have always a little crush on Wea .378cal. as a true MAGNUM. I now of 2 other guys here in Denmark that use this caliber. 300 grain bullets @ 3000 Ft/sec speaks of authority.
260grain Nosler AB @ 3200 Ft/sec get this rrifle a reach not many huntingcalibers will do.
I traded it as a used rifle with an old .303 Rigby.Normal price is about €18K from new for such a Ritterbusch.

Love the rifle... not the caliber so much. But that is what makes the world go around! I am sure if I ran across it it here in the states and got a deal on it, it would wind up in my safe as well!

That rifle suits my eye and says it's all BID-NESS!

I don't think I could shoot it that well at this stage but I love the looks. Well done!

Are we allowed to let our personal taste to enter into the discussion? Great looking rifle, but, wouldn't it be nicer if the cross bolts were treated identically, rather than rear bolts being plugged and the front bolts being engraved (even though one side the rear cross bolt looks to be on a flat on the stock and on the other it looks to be on a rounded area)? This can probably be fixed of course and that is what I would do.

I'm not trying to be a buzz-killer; I just think it would make a good looking rifle look a lot nicer for a very small modification.

Mr. Wink.

Thanks for your compliments Wink

Yes the crossbolts really ought to have been identical..However..what do you get in these times for 5000Euros?. Cool

BTW. Its a great rifle. Fits perfectly with either scope or ironsights.

This is a nice rifle and I thought long also about buying it. I have to admit that that I follow the crosscolt critics, in my eyes typical Ritterbusch: missing 100% by a slight but avoidable margin which I consider annoying in this class of rifles.

A superb rifle in a hot flat shooting cartridge, with beautiful wood. What a great gun. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Hi Jens!
How did the trip to the ranch go? Are you still happy about the scope and how it is mounted?

Cheers!

Here last sunday I went to shooting this thing.

My first/only load was 110 grain NORMA mrp to a 300 grain Sierra SPBT bullet.
It did 913 m/sec and with an accuracy second to none. I shot only at 60 meters but all shots sat in a tiny cloveleaf toching eachother.
I have not yet really desided with bullet shall become "the bullet" for this caliber. The 260grainNosler AB does appeal to me because of the fine ballistics it offer at long range. On the other hand a heavy 350-380grain bullet does also feels good because it is a biggame rifle and biggame are normally shot in short range.
I´ll post later what I have decided.

Bent: Ranch?...I´ll take to Africa next year.
