shootaway...you continue to show what a class (low) act you are. Instead of some snide remark you could have posted a polite answer giving the original poster the phone number. At least you have lived down to expectations of you.

shootaway,

you should be. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Every day is a precious gift, to be celebrated. I learned that in Vietnam...

I have handled several Satterlee actioned rifles, and I shot a good buddies 300 Win Mag just a few days ago. I have shot this rifle several times, in the past out to 500 yards.

He does make one fine action.

Question for the informed.
Is he producing and/or delivering any actions within the last 60 days?

Duane, your work cost less than the deposit I would risk on a Satterlee.

If you really want one why not just call him up and inform him you want one and explain your terms (cash on delivery). If he wants to make a sale he'll meet your terms. And if he doesn't, no harm done.

Here are his terms:

Terms: A 50% deposit is due with all rifle, action or custom parts orders. Deposits are contractual commitments and are non-refundable. The balance of payment is due when the work or product is complete. Products or services not paid in full within 60-days of notification of completion will be deemed abandoned, and all deposits and rights of ownership will be surrendered to Satterlee Arms.

You have the obligation to pay off the balance within 60 days of him telling you that it is complete but he has no obligation to complete it on any timetable.

Those are his stated terms. And he may stick to them. But businesses fudge on their stated terms all of the time when they need or want work.

If I really wanted one I'd say - I want one of your actions in this configuration. Because of past problems reported on AR I want a cash on delivery deal. I HAVE THE CASH READY TO GO NOW.
Here is my phone number. When you have an action ready for me let me know.

The worst he could say would be no. And again, no harm done.

Satterlee getting work orders from AR members was not the problem,
the problem is Satterlee has established for himself a reputation for taking orders/accepting payments
but not doing the work. Worse still, he blatantly lied & deceived his customers about delivery times & progress
on the deposited orders.
And be forewarned- He still has current long outstanding obligations hanging over his head in regards to him accepting
thousands of dollars in payment, but not providing the product.

the chance of Satterlee producing an action even after 60 months remains quite remote.
