I hope we get more than just pictures. I would like to see details of the interaction with the builder, cost, did the finished product fully meet expectations, what you would do differently etc. I would certainly like to have a custom rifle built before I die, but I am afraid to go there and make a very expensive mistake (see other forums on AR).
Peter.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong;

OK,
Lemme be the first one to post pics, then (although I have previously posted this on the leverguns forum).

Winchester model 1895 from ca. 1917.
Re-chambered to 8,2x53R, made to take-down, re-stocked in laminate + recoil pad, new windage and elevation adjustable sights, quick-mount sling, Weaver rail for red dot sight (DocterSight fitted).
Made by JP Gunsmith in Finland according to my ideas and specifications; but the execution is his.
The rifle has seen action all season and has taken one moose and one roe; and it would have taken whitetail but for my lack of experience! (And wild boar had I caught the slightest glimpse of it: it was within 10yds but behind snow and shrub so I only heard it.)
Groups nicely about 1 MOA with various factory and hand loaded ammo. thumb Speak of the relative inaccuracy of lever actions and take-downs - and this one is both! Cool

What a great idea. This forum should give us all a lot of good ideas and hopefully expose the bad ideas before they cost us too much money. I'm really looking forward to seeing what has and can be built.

Yeah! Good idea! And so the inevitable question.

At what point is it "custom" ??? Replace stock, barrel, blueprint the action, add a Jewell trigger, Ackley re-chamber?

But I'm waiting for "projects" -- piece of wood, and a gunsmith with a bin full of components.

There ya go! clap

Schauckis, I came late to this forum, but your Winchester is very interesting. Was it originally a Russian military rifle? Is the barrel the original Winchester recut from 7.62 to 8.2mm? How powerful is that cartridge - we do not know it in the US.
