I stopped in Dillon, MT on the way back from Alaska and bought a K98 clone and a Rem 700 stainless in 338 for $700 for the lot. The 700 had a weird drilled muzzle brake on it and it was a stainless ADL. Which I had not seen before. The 98 has a wonderful stock and I feel it was rebuilt in the 50's. I'll post photos of both of them in the next few days. 338 will probably get to be a 338, and I'll send it to Chad Dixon to rebuild. 98 will either get to be a 400 Whelen or a 9.3x64.

I have not had time to pull it apart and figure out what it is. It is a Golden State Arms 30-06 so I don't know if it is a FN, K98 or what. Locks up like a vault and has a beautiful finish to it. We are in the midst of a move and I haven't cracked into it.

I believe Golden State imported Santa Barbara actions. Good deal for both of the rifles. Jeremy.

I am pretty sure it has a thumb cut, these were bought without telling the war-department. So I haven't been fingering either one in public, and she has been up my ass pretty hard since we moved to California. At least I found her a house and some friends. Hopefully I can order the other parts on the down-low and eventually get these two built.
