Richard, Do I understand the rifle was built by Ron Wharton? Ron's a very nice bloke and has also worked on my rifles in the past! BTW, I'm going away to Uganda next week so if you do send me an email about that buffalo, Susan will be answering you.

Hi Folks After ten years, I have not had the opportunity to use these two fabulous guns, and I've shipped them to Holt and Company for inclusion in their September auction. They are in the same condition as pictured. I need the cash to fund the divorce. I'm sure we've all been there! www.holtsauctioneers.com I just hope there are two of you with deep pockets! All the best ------------------------------ Richard VENARI LAVARE LUDERE RIDERE OCCEST VIVERE

That is a lovely pair of guns... perfect for fun in Tanzania. I am a lefty and am having a similar rifle built in the US... LH Granite Mountain Mauser in .404J. It will go nicely with my 1930 Henry Atkin 12b self opener.. made to the same specification that Gough Thomas provided to Atkin in 1948. I plan on taking them both to Tanzania in 2021 or 2022... provided the world stabilizes just a bit by then. Congratulations on a fine rifle. Too bad you have to sell.
