Hope this is the correct thread, don’t want to tick anyone off.

I came across a new FN commercial action a while back, in the white and am getting ready to start on another project.

I cannot make my mind up between 6.5X284 and a 280 AI. I have a 220 Swift and a 6 AI on the small end and on the upper end; I have a .300 Win Mag as well as a .300 H&H. Also I have 2-270’s and a 30-06. As with most, I like accuracy but I also want it with a little punch.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

7mm Mauser? With a modern action, you can load them up pretty hot if so inclined, and they don't get more classic than that.

280AI would be my vote. I used a 280 Rem for mountain hunting for years, until a friend talked me out of it. I have a hankerin' to replace it now and the chosen cartridge will be the 280 AI.... for all the obvious reasons.
