This past weekend Paul and Sharon Dressel were kind enough to host a weekend BBQ. It gave Duane, Sharon and I a chance to look over their huge pile of stock blanks and to discuss the concept of the Guild rifle. Unfortunately, Michael Ullman was unable to attend (2500 mile trip puts a damper on a weekend BBQ). Anybody who had a chance to read Duane's post knows that Sharon Dressel is the stockmaker, Michael Ullman is doing the metal, I'm doing the engraving (Roger Kehr) and Duane Wiebe is the chairman of the project.

As you know, Duane posted a photo of the diminutive Hagn action in a previous thread. The photo just doesn't do justice to this sexy little critter. I have it in house now so I can take smoke pulls. This will allow me to work on the engraving design while the metal and stock work progresses.

I took photos of the stock blank and the concept drawing so I'm posting the pics. Here are left and right stock blank photos:

Here's a photo of the stock concept. The metal work in the drawing is there for proportion and scale. Michael will have his own ideas on the metal work, and I'm sure will contribute to this thread. As time allows.

Duane Wiebe and Sharon Dressel checking the stock layout on a couple of the top contenders for the project.

Sharon Dressel and Roger Kehr discussing stock and engraving possiblities for the project.

Many thanks to Paul and Sharon for the get together. Good food, gun talk and great company...my idea of fun.

Sharon will add some comments to this thread when she has the chance...busy gal!!!

I would give anything to have been seated at that table watching them discuss this project. To be in the presence of that much knowledge and within earshot of their discussion would have been entertainment for me.
Truly beautiful blank.

This is great; I really like this year's rifle and will be very interested in seeing it come to be. Thank you, Mr. Kehr, for taking the time to share it with us. Having a part in creating an ACGG rifle is my long-term goal and getting to watch this team's progress is strong fuel.

Best Regards,
Ian Klemm

You could attend the ACGG expo in Reno in January and your wish could be granted.

Thanks Duane. Small single shots in calibers like the hornet, 25-20, 22 lr, etc. are a real passion for me. I will follow the build with enthusiasm. DW
