As a professional stockmaker, the first person I'd make inquiry is to AR member Steven Dodd Hughes. An acknowledged master, He loves single shots, ( might or might not work on # 1's), but I'd bet he knows fine makers that will

Thanks Duane, but I'm no longer taking orders for custom projects as I ease into retirement...and I quit making referrals long ago.

You might want to contact Chuck Grace. He has done Ruger No. 1's as full customs and also has pre-carve patterns for such. Merry Christmas...

Most I have dealt with do phenomenal work but...
You might wait a couple years to have a project completed.
What is your time expectation?
I had a 243 Win #1 stocked by a gentleman I have known 40 years (outstanding work) and not certain he takes any new clients and I know he works he works at his own speed.

EZ

Hey Butch

I see you finally made the Sr age. I only need 2 yrs more to hit 90. Last week I had a fall and broke a couple of ribs. I sure the golden yrs are not what we were guarantied. I am waiting for the 8.7% increase that gave us a little more food. Ha Ha.

I stocked a few #1's , but only have one picture of a left hand model.

Reviving this thread from last year as I have a No 1 coming home soon from a re-barrel to 375 Flanged Magnum N.E.

The next step is to find someone who can take these two pieces of Turkish Walnut I have and turn them into No 1 handles.

Seems like so many of the gents mentioned either have more work than they can get to, or they are retired.

Any good, younger guys with mortgages and kids to educate?
