I am reposting this from the small caliber page by request.

I have had some request for pictures of other rifles I have built. This is a 22-250 Remington built on a medium Sako action. I built new Talley style bases on the action, the detent in the rear bridge is to hold the rear peep sight on. I built a rear sight out of steel (not much of an aluminum fan). The front ramp is integral to the barrel. 3 position safety and new bolt handle.

The stock is a nice piece of California English walnut. 22 LPI on the checkering.

The engraving was done by Gary Griffiths. He has engraved several of my rifles and does a great job.

I would love to answer any questions you might have about this rifle or any other rifle.

Thanks Justin

I can live with that, sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Very nice. Is that a new bolt handle or did you straighten the original handle?

Yes, it is a new bolt handle.

I machined off part of the Sako factory bases and welded on more material. I then threaded the action onto a mandrel and machined the bases on the action. They are perfectly aligned to the bore this way. They are Talley style bases with Talley rings.

If you are interested I can post some pictures of the process.

Sorry I took so long to post these pictures. They are not the pictures that I wanted but they will do. This is a CZ550 that I built awhile back. Not all the photos are here, I can't find the ones with the welding showing. I think you can get the idea. I also added one when the bases are done and I was squaring the front of the action off. The one in the stock are to see the finished bases in the white. Thanks
