After reading this thread, all I can say is there are custom stocks and there are custom stocks..IMO a custom stock starts at $3000 up. I get $3500 plus the cost of the wood, and parts, and $300 for checkering before I injured my hand. I farm that out now at about $300 to $350 depending on the pattern.

If you just want a decent using stock, a simi inlet, glass bedded would probably run you $500. to a $1000 I guess.

Keep in mind, like most things, you get what you pay for.
