Did really know where to put this. I have a couple Invoices from Johnson Automatics Mfg. Co. for work done on 2 Mauser rifles. One is an Oberndorf Sporter # 82896 probably now in 30-06 and the other is #4170, a Kar 98, now could be in .250-3000. Just to add I have the original barrel of 82896, octagon to round, integral full length rib with integral front ramp. Both Invoices are from 1946, I would be more than glad to mail a copy to the present owner(s) of these rifles. --- John

What caliber is the original barrel, and would you consider selling or trading it?

The original barrel is marked 7.6S on the rib. the underside has BS7,6.7,85.250 + the ser.#. & a 06 chambers easily but I should do a cast. Been told it's a 30-06, why rebarrel 06 to 06 is a ?, the original is not bad so who knows. The other odd thing is it's a small thread but a large ring shoulder. Right now the plan is to install it into a 22H Brno action I have, they look great together. --- John
