This 1915 Stevens favorite was originally a .22 LR but today is a .17 HM2....it's a great conversation piece as well as a hunting tool. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Very nice rifle. 17 HMR - I have been impressed with mine. The slickest custom rimfire I ever saw was a Winchester Model 52 sporter that my friend Gary Goudy worked over. It was as perfect as hands could make it, and beautiful.

Not to allow confusion.....My Stevens favorite is chambered for .17 HM2.....not HMR. I seriously doubt that the frail Favorite can handle the pressures of the 17 HMR but the HM2 is the same pressure as the .22 LR /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." That was my son's 1st rifle that I bought him when he was 10. The original Stevens, not the takedown rebore. Great little rifle, we still have it. I have often said that there should be a shooting match placed + a requirement was to bring the 1st rifle your father gave you. I'm sentimental that way. Never mistake motion for action.

I built a Win. mod 63 custom for myself, had barrel band front sight, barrel swivel, quarter rib, notched for Talley QD rings and Talley QD peep sight, outstanding Russian wood, and it loaded from the rear as opposed to the side and was lengthed in the magazine and butt..Loved it shot one running rock chuck at 100 yards and a guy with more money than since forced me to sell it to him..Most I ever sold a gun for and enough to buy a damn good roping horse.. I agree most heartily with this sentiment. Love custom rifles - both centerfire and rimfires; however, a nicely done rimfire is more rare. Brno Model 1 by James Anderson.

Vapo, Beautiful rifle! That would make squirrel hunting so much more fun. How does she shoot? Would be tempted to do a barrel for a Remington #4. God Bless, Louis
