Just helping a buddy out on this one. He just wanted it inletted, pad installed, and tip put on it. He's going to handle the rest. I think I gave him a pretty good start, it's just rough sanded. I left him extra wood at the grip cap area, it was'nt really talked about what kind of cap he was going with so I left him some room.

Looks good. Interesting treatment on the barrel. Is it a recontoured/fluted military? I'd like to see some better pictures of it.

That's what it appears to be. To tell you the truth I don't know much about the iron, he never said anything about it.

I guess I asked for that one! I'm everybody's buddy, it's a Kentucky thing I guess. If a man did'nt kill your dog or fondle your goat, well he's your buddy? This is a money job though, well kinda.

I was going to ask the same thing about the barrel. Never seen one done that way. In the closeup, it looks like there are only four really, really deep flutes. Might want to measure those and see how much wall thickness is left.

Thank's. It is duplicated from a pattern that was oversized, then worked by hand.
