Stockmaking June 25-29, 2018
This can be either inletting from a machined stock, or shaping from the blank.
I’ve focused on bolt action rifles in he past but am opening up the project choices. I’m not opposed to single shot rifle, double shotgun or lever action rifle projects, as long as the student has some experience in whatever project they choose. Talk to me about specifics.

Metal Preparation, Rust and Nitre Bluing. July 16-20
We will learn professional quality hand-polishing gun parts for custom guns or restoration. Double barrels can be a good project but we wont have time to polish and rust blue in one week.
Rust bluing will be focused on smaller, pre-polished parts and what we can polish in the first day of class. Each student will be offered to the opportunity to polish and nitre blue a batch of gun screws.

Students will find individual local accommodations and lunch will be provided each day. Tuesday and Thursday night Show & Tell 7:00- 10:00 Flying into Bozeman, MT or Driving to Livingston, MT.
Many Thanks!,
SDH
Shaped from the blank in class, finished in PA later.

Looking forward to a week in June!

What force or guile could not subdue,
Thro' many warlike ages,
Is wrought now by a coward few,
For hireling traitor's wages.
