Guys,

Thought you might like a look at the Fleur de lis checkering pattern that Gary just finished for me. He also crafted the stock from a stick of Circassian walnut that I provided. The rifle features a G33/40 Mauser action and Danny Pedersen cut rifled barrel chambered for the 25/06. Gary's work is impeccable.

Enjoy.

Tom

Beautiful work! The rest of the rifle sounds nice too. I would love to see it.

Guys,

These photos were taken by Gary and the stock is still in his checkering cradle. I won't get it for another couple weeks at the earliest. When I do get it, I'll shoot some pix and post them.

I am not the least bit surprised by the lovely checkering on your rifle. He did the Ottmar rifle as well ... and that checkering is simply beautiful too!

I doubt you'd find anyone who will do a better job. Some that might do as well ... but not likely for be better.

Looks great Tom.
Gary has a video through the guild that shows his effortless ability to generate line after line of precision checkering. He's got that natural talent. He told me at a show that he pinstripes cars too.

Guys,

As I promised, attached are a couple photos of the completed rifle. I still have to mount the scope,of course. While I'm at at, I've attached a couple pics of the latest rifle that Gary is working on for me. It's a 09 Argentine that was originally chambered for the 338 Win Mag. I had Danny Pedersen re-bore it to 416 Ruger. The stock has the first couple coats of finish, with several more to go. It's a stick of California English seedling walnut that I've had for quite a few years.

Enjoy.

Tom
