DWM 1908 receiver and bolt, receiver reheat treated by B.M.P. Swift Blackburn magazine box. Custom bases cut for Talley rings. My own 3pos safety. Recnagle trigger. Krieger barrel From raw material banded rear sight island with recoil lug. NECG front sight ramp and banded sling mount. Parkwest Rigby grip cap converted to a nicer single screw. Flush filed action screw heads. Talley bolt handle. Turkish walnut. 14-3/4 LOP cast off 1/4 heel, 1/2 toe. Leather covered recoil pad. (2nd one ever). Strangely, leather pads are easier said than done. English engraving by Jesse Kaufman. One month turn around on this one, great job reasonably priced.

Great looking rifle in one of my favorite calibers! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. Very tastefully done. Like the rimless nitro express engraving. Nice touch. Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can.

So..., this entire rifle was built in 1 months time?? That is impressive. Takes me 1-2 years to finish just one.

I think the engraving was a one month turnaround.

Not the case, the engraving was with the engraver Jesse Kaufman for 1 month. I did the checkering, metalwork, and made the stock. Thanks for the compliments, always appreciated.

I used a 14X which I re-machined wider for the 404 case. The 14x as made at swift for a 375 has enough wall thickness to convert to 404. One very basic fixture already made for other conversions and a simple 2 axis cnc program, done deal, feeds great.

Very neat how you've set the rings into pockets on the bases. Well worth the extra effort there. Awesome rifle.

Spectacular firearm right there! And a proper LOP! Almost long enough for me! "Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid" -- Ronald Reagan "Ignorance of The People gives strength to totalitarians." Now that is the engraving I like, tastefully done. Very much admire the checkering. I have checkered a few rifles myself but I only wish I could do it like that...

In my world, there are two possibilities; One BMP is a Russian Infantry Fighting Vehicle. The other is Blanchards Metal Processing. The OP surely meant one of these two.

Surprised no one said, a 404 on a std action? which is a legit question as Ive seen so many std Mausers with feed problem over the years in the field, although I've seen a number of 404s on mod. 70 and 98 actions that worked fine, I still would lean to a magnum Mauser action for a bit more wiggle room and to omit feeding problems that might crop up, but sure wouldn't pass up this beauty.. What say you.. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

Had a 404 on a VZ 24 action, worked flawlessly. I think it comes down to the gunsmith, not the action used.

" Surprised no one said, a 404 on a std action?" Just for the record Jeffery's first 404's were all built on standard actions ! It was only much later that they had access to the Magnum Action
