That is one of the rifles I could really be jealous over. It's in the right calibre and it has a DARK walnut stock which is the only stockwood I really like. As I have said before I shoot and hunt better with a fine looking gun. I would have absolutley no qualms about using this rifle for the purpose I HOPE it was built for.

Stuart,

Beautiful rifle.

A word of caution, PVD coatings will chip.

Phygen, PVD/CVD coatings are extremely hard and can be chipped. Likely with standard rifle use? Probably not.

I have always thought a rifle with selected coating in AlTin would look excellent. Phygen would look good too. (both deep blue/black)

As fine a work as I have ever seen.
Is it hard to get headstamped .275 Rigby brass?

Nate,
We've been coating titanium action with Balzers
WCC/PVD since 1997.
Chipping has never ever been an issue.

Testing by ball peen hammer strike shows that the coating is actually driven into the sub. In that it dents right along with the sub.

In one case, I polished wcc/pvd off an action
That coating will knock the tooth off 220 paper in a heart beat.
I had to hit it 2 and 3 times to get in the white agian.

I've used the wcc/pvd on 15 Titanium Satterlee m-98 rifles so far with great results.
No chipping.............. EVER.

For titanium actions it is the best.

Zimbabwe,
Glad you like the rifle.
Kim R. asked that I stain the wood.

Glad to hear you have no issues with it. We have to recoat tooling after every use because of chipping issues with PVD coating. We have moved to mostly a phygen coating because of it.

But, like I said, not likely with a sporting rifle Smiler
