Nice piece of wood you've used there. Any details available on it?

Nice rifle but I hope you didn't throat too long for those VLD bullets. They usually seat out further than most hunting bullets anyway.

I have a friend who has the reamer. He had made a pre 64 with the same reamer and I built the stock in trade for some of his metal work (5 years ago) and he shoots nosler 100gr. and has killed a pile of deer with it. I bought some older 115 gr bergers and (in another stock) they shot into 1/2 inch at a 100 yards. I started the finishig tonight. will post more pics when I get the checkering done.

Finished the first grip panel. New job and christmas have slowed down the checkering. The 28 lpi have been fun. I usually don't go this fine but the piece of wood had really good density so I thought I would try it. Elton

I built a few to pay for my hunting trips in the past, now only a hobby. One or two a year not getting in too much hurry. My wife thinks I have too many hobbies but I love to work with nice wood. Elton

Time for an update Smiler How's it shooting? I have a JC Higgins I'd like to look like yours one of these days, only in 6.5 x 284 or 260 Remington.

I'd like my metalwork finished and blued with such depth that one might be tempted to just "dive into it". Do you have any favorites for that kind of work?

Your rifle is a work of art. Thank you for sharing!

Very nicely done, you have some real talent (obviously). Wish I did, but my hands don't coordinate with my eyes that well.
