Was that checkered bolt knob on the Echol's rifle a special order item, and do you know who did the checkering.

Absolutely beautiful Rifle!

Brett,

Well he does only have two spikes Wink Thanks!

Silvertip1,

The bolt knob was custom, and a combination effort with Max MacFarland doing the checkering and Lee Griffith doing the rosette. All other engraving was completed by Lisa Tomlin.

I use my custom rifles about like I use my old 25-35, they do take a beating over the years and I have a couple that look like stainless steel and drift wood, but they began life as rust blue and exhibition Turkish...I could refinish them to as new, but those nicks, scratches and wear tell a story, and have a lot of good memories..Must be the cowboy in me, or maybe I just hate to put a new gun in a saddle scabbard or have to baby a gun on a hunt..

Just returning from a Tamaulipas deer hunt I took a ruger no1, that a had posted here a few month ago, under ths post of another no1, the weather was hot, but on december the 21th the weather was cool, and this buck starting chasing a doe, I shot it at 7a.m. it is a nice 10 pointer 6 years old. The rifle performed flawlessly it is very accurate I used 165 grs. Swif Scirocos, the bullet entered the left shoulder hit the great vessels and the spine and I found it under the hide of left side of the chest it weighted 124 grs. The deer was shot at 180 meters. So everything went perfect. I wish you Merry Christmas and the very best to you all in the year to come

Todd, that's a nice looking "working gun". With a little elbow grease, CZs & ZKKs are as good as anything.

Nice Mexico buck... haven't hunted down there since all the trouble started. Some great deer in that part of the world. Guessing that buck at upper 50's? Maybe low 60's? Darn long main beams...

You have a keen eye it measured 152 B&C. Some places are safe to hunt others are impossible you have to really know where to hunt it depends mainly if there is hefty army presence. All this year there has not been a single incident with hunting parties, but the number of hunters has been down to 80% in relation to previous years. Regards and good hunting

Here is a picture of my black powder 3/4 inch. The barrel was made by Landrover and the stock by a chap called Elastic Banda.

Had I known that Thompson Contender were going to mass produce these then I would have slapped a patent on it.

Talk about shooting it off the face. Andrew, you just have to stop using smokeless powders in this heirloom as I see signs of overpressure.

Fairgame, I think it is pretty childish to post pictures of someone else's rifles and call them your own. It is clear to all that those rifles were designed and built by Pydza . . . basic, utilitarian and practical. We have been asking him to post some pictures and he has ignored our requests. I can understand now, with the fear of patent infringement looming large.

Andrew... love the humor and in my humble opinion that is a full blown custom with every part being handmade! I just don't know which end is more dangerous. Great photography btw.
