I bought a new to me ,53' mod 70 custom,the gun is 25-06, 24" Shilen match grade barrel, Pacific research,rimrock stock. The gun had less then a box of factory ammo thru it. I am tickled to death, Ive owned and shot a 25 wssm ,coyote lite as my bad weather ,truck gun since they came out in 04' I think, so I was already a big .25 fan on varmints and whitetails. 110 gr accubonds or 120 gr Super X ammo have put 20+ whitetails down like a hammer, never had to track nor 2nd shot. they just plane WORK. This 25-05 is a laser and I just love the stock!! I use, collect and shoot many pre 64 mod 70's usually on bluebird days to protect the furniture. The reason the collector sold me the 25-06 is the stock had the 'dog knot' inlet and the Shilen barrel did not have 'dog knot'.. I need 4 or 5 pre 64 stocks if any of you fine folk have a line on them, be happy to pay a finders fee. very best to you and yours this week and Christmas.

I have a pre 64 stock if you are interested. Came off a 1961 30-06 and has a recoil pad added. Usual dings but checkering is sharp, original finish and no glass bed or cracks. $75.00 plus shipping.
