Custom Gunmaking Seminars 2022 This year I am going to offer the same Seminars in name as I have for the past 10 consecutive years. This year I am opening the classes up to whatever projects the students want to bring. I've had a number of students, amateur and Professional return wanting to take their skills to a higher level, wanting to use, or make special tools. For all students and projects I stress the development of handwork to a high degree of quality. There will be very little or no work done by machine except for the band saw and drill press. I stress and teach handmaking because it is the best approach to small shop creativity and quality. Sometimes these classes fill very quickly, if you are serious please don't hesitate! There are only (4) four workstation available, they are assigned as deposits arrive. It is best for serious students to give me a call. We can discuss your project and what and how much can be accomplished in the time allotted. 406-222-9377 West Coast time. EMAIL: SDH@MONTANA.NET Metal Prep and Finishing: Hand-polishing and rust bluing, July 11-15, 2022 Professional Stockmaking: September 5-9, 2022. Each Seminar will be five (5) Days long, Monday-Friday, at 9:00 to 5:30 with an hour lunch break. We meet back in the workshop Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 for Show and Tell. No bench work but we examine completed custom guns from my collection, historic guns and others of interest. I invite students to bring interesting guns that fit this description to Show and Tell us about. The Seminars cost $1750 with half payable as a deposit ($875) and the balance due 30 days prior to class. The deposit is only refundable if I can fill the assigned work station. In the event that you need to cancel, I offer an allowance on the next years Seminar fees. Because I have health issues and am particularly vulnerable to Covid-19 I must request that all students be fully vaccinated and boosted prior to coming to Montana. This is about survival, nothing political. Please be willing to show your vac card. We may test prior to classes. Work stations are assigned as deposits arrive. There are only four (4) available so don't hesitate. Give me a call to talk about it. 406-222-9377 For more in depth information Please Email: sdh@montana.net ACGG Life Member, since 1985

Me Too, I'm interested in Enthusiastic Students as you sound like one of them! I've had other International folks inquire over the years. Unfortunately it is just too much hassle for them and for me.Plus the gun laws get all over the possibility. Students from all regions of the USA have attended along with Alaska and Canada. They guys that attended last year had a Great Time and accomplished some high caliber stockmaking and metal finishing. There are already two returning students booked for this year and we are looking forward to a productive, educational and entertaining event. Students mainly leave with an elevated sense of accomplishment and understanding of quality. Marlin M-93 hand polished, ready for case colors. John's finished and checkered at home. Bench rasps & tools at work. ACGG Life Member, since 1985

UPDATE: THERE IS OPEN WORK STATION OPEN FOR THE METAL PRE (7/11-15/2022) AND TWO OPEN FOR STOCKMAKING (9/5-9/2022) For those thinking about attending this year, I believe the Metal Prep and Rust bluing group is filled, just waiting on deposits. There are either two or three work stations open in the Stockmaking so it would be a good time to contact me, sdh@montana.net Thanks, Steven Hughes Commonly used checkering tools discussed in Seminar ACGG Life Member, since 1985
