7/27/09 at 0645 I opened the blinds in my PC room and looked out the back at 4 bobcats in the backyard.We have young grandchildren so I don't need predators this close in.I called and checked for a solution:animal control won't take them,Ca dept of f&g won't take them as they can't be relocated if I use a live catch trap.I spoke to the resident wildlife biol for this area & he told me what I already knew I'm a graduate wildlife biol & retired from le)they aren't endangered or protected .I was informed there is a county contract trapper who is extremely busy.A friend of mine bought a Gamo .177 pellet rifle which fires the pellet @ 1200fps good for varmints.My blue streak is about 600 but my S&W 22 pumped 14 times will go in one end and out the other.I wish the bobcats would leave the quail alone and start feeding on Felis domestica.
