Anybody have any ideas how I might contact this gentleman?

Address at the time he was issued the rifle:
av. Vieux Moulin 10
Lausanne (Switzerland)

No trace of that guy at that adress on the swiss telephone directory, nor any "Dutoit" living in "Av. du vieux moulin"

Write to the Swiss Embassy and ask how to trace him. They will perhaps be able to suggest a local paper to contact. Or maybe even write direct to that local paper or local radio station?

Sometimes street names also change. Also it is well worth just writing a letter and see what happens.

Local Post Offices and local mailmen often have long memories.

They can be a good source for info. I received a letter from the Widow of my K31's original owner and she gave some of his shooting medals that he had won with the rifle as well as a couple of photos of him. Good luck with your search.
