Hi all, I'm new to this forum but I had to "bite" on this one. I own a Yugo M59 SKS and have fired a few 1000 of Wolf through it. Yes its non-corrosive and moderately accurate. Yugo mil surp (corrosive) has proven to be the best performer in my weapon while Olympic was the poorist. One comment on ammo for SKS. Some of these weapons lack a hammer return spring so the use of military type ammo is recommended to prevent "slam fires". Wolf (and the various Bears) do use these hard military type primers. Also, verify if your range requires your ammo to pass the "magnet test". Wolf std. ammo is manufactured using a bimetalic bullet jacket made of copper plated steel with lead core that is attracted by magnets. None of our ranges magnet test but many shooters have been turned away from their range especially those that shoot indoors. Mtn.

thank you for your response.I dont have to pass any magnet tests.I went ahead and cleaned like it was corrosive,so I dont have to worry.I was shooting about a 4 in group at 100 yds with this ammo. ****************************************************************** SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM ***********

Yes, Wolf ammo is indeed noncorrosive. I use it in .45 ACP, which has Boxer primers, and I have actually reloaded some of those steel cases. The steel they are made from is much softer than that used in most loading dies, and I have a carbide sizer in .45 ACP anyway, so have encountered no problems at all. Wolf ammo is Russian COMMERCIAL stuff. It's non-corrosive and "modern." I wonder how the OP above is removing the Berdan primer with the two holes in the base? The steel case may be softer than whatever, but they're still ferrous and will be wearing on your carbide die.

The .45 ammo has Boxer Large Pistol primers..... It'll trake a helluva lot of those steel cases to wear out a carbide die! "Bitte, trinks du nicht das Wasser. Dahin haben die Kuhen gesheissen."

I have shot a lot of Wolf ammo and never found it to be corrosive. I've haven't found it to be very accurate either. The Brown and Silver bear ammo made by Barnaul Machine usually shoots much better out of my rifle than Wolf. Reloading steel ammo? I would have never thought you could do that. You learn something new everyday. Now that I have, I can continue on the rest of my day mindlessly Terry -------------------------------------------- Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Accuracy hell !!! One thing I shoot Wolf ammo in, AK-47, Romanian, w/ a Bulgarian 75 rd. drum mag, or 40's. This ain't no target gun, son -- Local "ranges" are gravel pits and "wide patches" off the side of logging roads. We load up the AK and "advance" downrange, spraying anything that might have one time moved. Mostly cans and junk. Yeah, I know -- Litter out in the woods from shooters is a shameful issue. Locally it's appliances, sofas, office furniture, and most of the crap the recycle center won't take.

Nothing like finding a refrigerator with no holes in it. That's when these commie rifles come into their own. Yea, I'm a redneck Terry -------------------------------------------- Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Favorite site locally is "three car pit" -- gravel pit used by the highway dept. as a source of rock aggregate for roadbed. "Three car" because there were "three cars" abandoned there -- last count. I can never quite figure out why people shoot stuffed animals? You want spectacular (red-neck spectacle)? Duct tape a highway flare to a fully charged propane bottle, light the flare and then shoot the bottle. Best done in a gravel pit with nothing that might catch fire -- because it will.
