You may remember my recent misfortune with having a store employee snatch a nice K-31 from me while it was on layaway. I just found another one, with a nice walnut stock, even nicer than the last one actually. Metal isn't too bad either. This one is also on layaway, but with my name written all over the tags, and on the box a note that this particular gun is spoken for and not to be touched. Hope to pick it up soon and try it out... I received a "bottom of the barrel" K31 from AIM this weekend. I cleaned at it, and put ten rounds through it. The first three from 25 yds off-hand were right on target. I backed up to 100yds, fired once with a six o'clock hold. Checked my target, and there was a bullet hole, right at six. Held center on, and fired the rest. About a two inch group with one low and the other two about an inch apart and touching. I was impressed. The rifle mounts well, and once I got use to the straight pull, it was really nice. The recoil is very light. I think this is a nice rifle. Certainly the best rifle I ever got for $80! Anyone know how the action stacks up for strength? What is the accepted pressure limit? And does anyone know where you can pick up a stock for one of these? Ku-dude [ 05-05-2003, 06:06: Message edited by: Ku-dude ]

I got a handpick for 99$ from aim a month ago the gun shoots great 1.5 inch with gp11 at 100yds and open sights. about 2 weeks ago i just had to buy another and got one of the closeout 79$ ones, all matching #'s but the stock is kinda beat, i am considering a refinish job, i kinda wish now i would have just payed the extra bucks for a nicer one since these k31's are so kewl. i haven't seen any sources for new stocks maybe numrich gun parts would have one. this gun shoots just as good although it shoots 6 inches high at 100yrds. i would really like to correct this, it seems taller front sights are hard to come by does anyone know how i could lower POI about 4 inches at 100yds. both guns seemed to shoot about 4 inches to the right, maybe i just look through the open sights different than most. I am extremly happy with both my k31's and have to say i am a real fan of these fine rifles. there is something to be said about being different and doing it well

I absolutely love my K-31. I refinished the stock and after an extensive search, acquired a bayonnet (which cost almost as much as the rifle- but worth it). Another interesting note on the K-31's can be found out by removing the butt plate. Most of these guns have information about the original owner on a card/piece of paper/etc. kept between the butt plate and the stock. There are web sites out there that translate the information which, in my mind, greatly enhances the collectability of these rifles. Shawn

Can anyone point me to a dealer in western Virginia (upper Shenandoah Valley) with one of these?

Check out the current issue of Accurate Rifle. There's a gent on there who had a custom K31 sporter built. In 358 Winchester. It looks like the work was top notch from the pictures, but that $7800 price tag gave me the willies. - Dan

@Dan In the SwissRifle.com forum there is a post regarding this article: SwissRifles.com After reading the article in the Accurate Rifle I was shocked about the price fort this K-31. And the worst think done to this K-31 is to convert a very accurate rifle (7.5x55) to the .358 Winchester!!! I sporterized my K-31 as well, but mine didnt cost that much. Probably $300.00 Please see this link: Carbine K-31 Hunt Any questions to this project are welcomed at collani@collani.ch Good shooting and good hunting Collani www.collani.ch
