Could anyone tell me the year that a Colt AR-15, serial number 1189XX was manufacutured? I have one I am raffling off for a FNRA program and need some info for the ticket. I was told by the donor it was a first production run????????? Thanks in advance.

So it looks like 1968 production? I'll check some of the other markings. It does have a collapsible stock and flash hider. Barrel is very thin.

Something is missing in this list, I don't see my LTA prefix carbine SN and my A3 Tactical carbine is BDO 03749 (may be linked to the AWB in US that this model's higher SN known in US is BDO 00134)

Other markings include:
On the barrel: C MP Chrome Bore
On the receiver: SP-1
"SP" prefix in front of Serial Number
Collapsable stock, round hand guard
Any other info?

Very classical AR 15 Sporter markings. Your serial number matches with the end of 70's , beginning of 80's.
I bought a Sporter with SN 113 XXX in 1980.
