Hello all, A friend recently gave me as a gift, a U.S. compliant AK (semi-auto). Living in VA, is there anything I need to to "officially" take ownership of it? Do I need any paperwork at all? Thanks -ter __________________________ Per Scientia Vox Duty to your country means more than a ribbon magnet on the back of your car.

NOTE: I am not familiar with Virginia state laws. That said, if it's a semi-auto firearm and you can legally possess a firearm, I'm not aware of any laws that come into play on a firearms transaction involving a longgun between indivduals.

Thank you for the reply. I did not think so, and got the same answer from a local gun store, but wanted to have multiple opinions. __________________________ Per Scientia Vox Duty to your country means more than a ribbon magnet on the back of your car.

Late reply but it's all yours. We don't have registration in Virginia. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.
