I THOUGHT I read here once a thread about essential arms AR's. but I can't remember what it said.. good or bad.

I know they went under and DPMS bought their tooling. I don't care for DPMS myself, so I'm wondering how Essential arms was?

They weren't the best, but I've had one for years, never given any problems.

Hello,
Not sure about Essential Arms products, have not built any 15's on thier units. If just for plinking and general sport use, probably fine. Check w/ mfg. to see that the trigger and hammer pin holes are true and of mil spec. Normally I tend to use Bushmaster for I have not had any problems with their products.

You must not be very familiar with AR15/M16-type rifles. Colt is the only manufacturer who uses non-milspec pin sizes. Further, Essential Arms is widely regarded as a very durable lower receiver. A large number were converted to select fire configuration prior to the 1986 ban and have held up quite well.

Hello,
Well, you could say I was familiar with them, but just wanting to make sure that the potential customer checked w/ the supplier he is considering that the pin holes were truly proper size. For you to assume (you know what that makes a fellow!)that all the mfg's do those little things just right could be a mistake. Actually have seen several that were not properly lined up and not true to spec as well. Anyway, hope the Essential works out fine.

That's just not correct. Colt is the only manufacturer who uses a non-standard pin size. Manufacturing defects are a whole other ball game. Obviously you're just not very familiar with AR15/M16-type rifles. The fact that you would even intimate that a manufacturer would disclose potential defects speaks volumes. "Oh, no, our holes are drilled off-center. Thanks and have a nice day." Get real.

Hello,
Not sure just what your problem is and really do not care, but you need an anger management course or perhpas several. Why so short and impolite in your responses? It is not necessary and rest assured there is always someone out there who will debate or argue with you and that only feeds your problem. Nope, whatever you say is fine and dandy with me and I do indeed hope that you have a nice day as well.

I'm calling a spade a spade. You posted bogus and misleading information that has absolutely NO value and I called it as such. Perhaps when you understand AR15/M16-type rifles, we can have an intelligent discussion regarding them. Until then.........

I've had experience with Essential Arms uppers and lowers. Years back. They were well made and unless something has changed since then, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them today.

For years Essential's lowers were investment cast by Ruger. I was told by them a few weeks ago that they will probably be producing forged lowers soon. There's not a single thing wrong with an Essential Arms lower. They were an excellent value back in the day.
