Today at a gun show I saw the most awesome little carbine. It was a Turkish 7x57 Calvery carbine. Its like new.It has a butter handle bolt .The barrel is only 17" long.It is like brand new..Its a split reciever mauser.I usually dont buy military surplus guns but this one looks like it was made yesturday!!!.Does any one know anything about this gun?Luck me I just sold all my 7x57 ammo.I think I can make brass from 6 mm remington,257 roberts,8 mm mauser .I will pick up some dies.In 99% condition what is it worth. The wood is beautiful Turkish Walnut. Its better than any I have ever seen on a military rifle.

How much are they worth .This one is got to be 99.8 %.I swear its as short as a 10-22 Ruger. They guy at the gunshow didnt know what it was.It has a 17.5" barrel. The bore is excelent. The wood looks like the old awesome prewar winchester wood.I will see if I can get some pics on here.I usually just pass by all the military stuff.A guy had a perfict german 8mm mauser too. This butter knife action is the slickets military action I have ever seen.

Sounds nice, I'd bought it. Haven't you ever seen the 1891 Argentine cavalry and engineers carbines? They too are short and have the 17 inch barrels and are in 7.65x54. I have the Engineer carbine in mint condition. The difference between the Argentine Cavalry and Engineer carbine is that the Engineer carbine has provisions of it for bayonet attachment. Does it look like the carbine in this link: http://www.texastradingpost.co...Carbinetomuzzle.html Good find you got there. Joe

The bolt is the flat butter knife type. The rear site is on the safety I guess it does not rotate but is part of the bolt. Its a 7x57 for sure. Its stamped 1940.Its like brand new .Its the only 7x57 mm in a Turkish mauser that anyone has ever herd of.Its alot the first serial # in the 1940 range.I hope to get pictures on here.I want to shoot it but dont want to mess it up any.It is a split reciever though.
