Not sure where else to ask this question. I have wanted an AR style rifel for some time, and especially after zumbos remarks. Has any one had any experience with the Olympic arms plinker model? Does it digest most surplus ammo? Fairly accurate? My sons have other brands but they are $200 to $300 more than the plinker. Local shop has them on sale for $577. Any suggestions appreciated.

I had one, changed the barrel because accuracy was really in the gutter. then I worked the A2 sight to remove the excessive play, the reason I got finally rid of it was that the lower and upper receivers had been perfectly matched but they were not interchangeable with any other AR15 I had, they were out of MilSpec, really out.

Thanks Edmund, sounds like you get what you pay for with them.

Between the many different AR-15's that I've owned, one was an Olympic Arms Car-15 with telescoping stock and 11 1/2 inch barrel. The brake was permanently attached to make it legal length. Other than a slightly horrendous muzzle flash/blast it was a swell rifle. It shot well out to 300 yards (it would keep them all on a silhouette target). For that type of rifle it was good performance. Friends of mine own Olympic Arms rifles and all are happy with them. I guess it depends on what you want it for (formal target/match shooting or plinking/self defense). Regards, Eric "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." I don't feel satisfied to have spent hard earned money to hold a silhouette..

But Edmond, that's what it was made for. Frankly, it was made to kill/disable people. If it was made to punch holes close together it would have been designed as are the current match rifles. I've always been happy with firearms that did what they were designed to do. If I want something better I will buy something better. My two cents.
