The .303 British chamber was reamed out and enlarged, a sleeve soldered and then reamed for the soviet cartridge, the gas hole enlarged, the extractor slightly modified and the magazine locking lug modified for the AK magazine.
They were exchanged for RPD and RPK at the end of the 60's, rehauled and given to the PLO self defense militia in south China where I could test them two decades later.
