Ok I got a question for anybody who has a C&R license.
I just received mine today and I just wanted to make sure I had all this right.

I need to make copies of my original and when purchasing a c&r gun, sign one of the copies and send it to the person I am purchasing from. Then record all the information in my bound notebook. Then if I sell it, record that persons information in the bound notebook also. per 27cfr 478.125 f

Is that right and is there anything else that I need to know that is of major importance.

Any and all information is appreciated.
Thank you.

Yes, you are correct. Keep in mind, many net retailers, such as Grafs's, Midway, etc. give discounts to C&R license holders. Send them a copy.
One forum that deals with C&R questions;

Sad to say, Midway no longer acepts an C&R for the "dealer" prices, new policy in 2005. When your current license expires (on file at Midway) that's it.

Brownell's is another one that will give you a discount as well.

A recent rules change allows you to now fax copies of your signed license.

This is the first I heard of this. If it's true it's going to cost them alot of business. Price is the only thing they that over Brownell's other than their reloading stuff.

Midway sent me an email in April '05 requesting my renewal/updated C&R FFL. Faxed it to them with no problem and have ordered since with the discount. No mention of stopping the discount for C&R.

It varies by item, it isn't across the board percentage. Same this brownells.

Question: Are there any of the gunstock companies that will give discounts to C&R holders?

I ordered a Bell & Carlson stock and got my usual C&R discount. Check out Midway and Brownell's. If they stock it, you can get the discount.
