Tsing Tao Model of 1927 A limited number of MP 18.1 were kept and used by the Reichswehr for police use under the allied occupation forces control commission, the typical double date markings of the Weimar Republic were applied to these weapons. Hugo Schmeisser created his own company in 1919 with his brother and worked clandestinely on the MP 18 first modifying it for a 20 rounds and a 32 rounds stick magazine and adding a fire selector, it became the MP 28. The Bergmann and Schmeisser patents were used by companies located in Belgium and Switzerland producing SMG for Belgium, Finland and the Republic of China. When doing some research, I discovered that Mr Heinrich Vollmer had helped set up a factory in China where SMGs were made based on the Bergmann MP18.1 Heinrich Vollmer started a company in 1909 to produce cutting machines then later milling machines. He became later one of the most prolific firearms designers and the major german SMG manufacturer between 1928 and 1945. MP18 Bergmann, made in China in 1927, in Tsing Tao, Province of Shandong, for the Shanghai Public Safety. Caliber 7.63x 25 mm Mauser. 32 rounds vertical stick magazine. https://www.facebook.com/edmon...4922232876624&type=3

That's an interesting sub gun, Edmond. Looks very simple and very durable. --And now I know what Tsing Tao beer is named after. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
