This is for the German 98 Mauser experts out there. My best friend has a German 98 Mauser last ditch rifle....yes the Germans made them too along with the Japanese and their last ditch. A few things are unique about this rifle, one which is it's a last ditch (hastely made, non adjustable rear sight, all stamped stock hardware, laminated stock, just routered and not sanded with finish appled, etc.), two it date is March 1945..wow that's one month before the end of the war for Germany, and three..it's MINT MINT MINT..I mean never issued...looks like it just come off the finishing line. He wants to know what it's worth. He knows it's worth a good figure, but not exactly sure. He turned down $1200 for and the offerer was willing to buy it sight unseen. Any guesses?

These things are worth what someone will pay for them ,the idea is to find someone who really really wants it and has lots of loot. Mind you it would be worth a lot more if it had a synthetic stock . It's mercy, compassion and forgiveness I lack; not rationality.

10 years ago I saw a single shot 45acp stamped sheet metal, no finish, Liberator pistol for $500. I don't buy collector value, I buy intrinsic value, and I really passed that one up. It was next to a minty S&W 29-4 for $200 that I bought without touching.
