Youll need two things. Bullets with a cannelure and a tube of automotive valve lapping compound. Carefully pack a bit of it into the cannelure, (about 10 should suffice) let it set up and dry overnight, load and fire. Then fire a box of regular ammo through it. I did this in an awfull looking 8X57 milsurp bbl and now it is bright, shiny and smooth. I wouldnt reccomend this on anything but the worst bbls, but for them it works quite nicley.

It might! If it is a sewer pipe then whats to loose? Mine sure cleans up much nicer, I just loaded up 5 more to put through mine. Im using 170 grn Hornady rns and I seat the bullet to the far edge of the cannelure to seal in the compound in the cannelure, no crimp. Im going to shoot them tomorrow along with some turkish ammo.

I go to Lee Kay sometimes, other times I go out west. Did you know that they recently doubled their price? I wish they would offer some competition shooting, Id love to try some milsurp match shooting.
I shot 5 more lapping loads Saturday. I offered on another thread for you to have a look-see at my reworked stock but not sure if youve seen the message.

Check out www.utahshootingsports.com and look at the info for the Clearfield range. I know they have Garand matches and sometimes even hold mil-surp matches. The only thing I dislike about Lee Kay is not being able to shoot from field type positions (ie Kneeling and/or prone). Supposedly a 1000yr range is in the works near Toelle (however it's spelled) and the Clearfield one is getting extended to 600yds.
I have only went shooting once at lee kay about 3 yrs ago. I usually go to holiday becuase I like the uncontrolled atmosphere and being able to put up your target without everyone having to stop shooting, only thing is 100yrds is the maximum they have at holladay. What is the longest range they have available at Lee kay?? I would like to do some 200yd plus shooting with my .22-250 sometime.

Lee-Kay goes has 100, 200, and 300 yard rifle ranges. The 300yd range is only open on Wednesday. At the rifle range you do not have to wait for others to change your target. There is a bunker where you change your target and it is then raised up to be shot. I'm pretty sure their closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Thats just what Ive been loooking for, the millsurp matches at Promontory sounds like a hoot.
Cummins..,
Ive never been to the Holliday club, you only need to wait to set up targets at the short range at Lee Kay. I was thinking about doing some shooting this weekend but if I do Ill proly go out to the desert and work on my cast bullet loads.
