I have a Romanian 5.45X39, AK-74. So far a couple of thousand rounds of both Wolf and Bulgarian surplus ammo and no problems have surfaced. No malfunction, parts broken, or trigger slap. If anything the Arsenal should be a nicer rifle than my Romanian. Thank goodness the ammo is still quite inexpensive compared to 7.26X39. Swift, Silent, & Friendly

Inter Ordnance is putting together and selling an AK47 variant that originated in East Germany before the Berlin Wall came down. then the wall fell right in the middle of sales transactions and they canceled. Inter Ordnance is building exact copies in both 7.62x39 (the STG 2000-C) and 223 the original caliber (STG 2003-C). The original was called the Wieger STG 940. The basic rifle is Romanian with a chromed chamber and bore hammer forged barrel. Guns & Ammo tested it and shot a 1.5 inch group at 100 yards with Winchester and nothing bigger then 2 inches with Russian Bear ammo. They put Tapco triggers in them too. Here's two articles on the rifle. http://www.ioinc.us/stgarticle.pdf http://www.ioinc.us/tacticalweaponsart.pdf Joe

having both I'd say they're a horse apiece. Only thin was i also had an east german sniper in 5.45x39 and we found that the russian (surplus) ammo was quite a bit milder than the rommanian. i don't think you can find the russian surplus anymore. pulling a round apart the bullet if i remember right was 64 grains and velocity out of the 74 was about 2900
