I'm considering applying for a Curio and Relic license. Does such a license allow you to make wholesale purchases?

Yes, in most instances. Also, you get discounts from many suppliers, such as Brownells.

What is the cost of the permit and some of the requirements? I was surprised to find out I have to have a permit to sell home made bullets. What threat does the home bullet business have to the government that they have to know about my small business and increase my overhead by charging for a FFL of sorts? Do I have to register my collection of old wood baseball bats????? PAK [Roll Eyes]

I was interested in selling home swaged bullets. I was reading somewhere that there was a manufacturer's license needed. Maybe I am all wet. Wouldn't be the first time. I will ask some swaging friends and some die suppliers. PAK

Curio & Relic is issued by BATF, runs $30 for three years. It DOES NOT license you to be a "dealer" but rather only a "collector."

For that reason, I have reservations about "wholesale" purchases insofar as they pertain to quantity. But you get "wholesale" prices from some dealers as a "collector/dealer."

It's NOT a license to "deal" in C&R firearms.

You need to keep a "bound book" which records all purchases and sales.

Most any C&R search online will get you information. BATF will provide details too.
