I have been working with a few K31 rifles lately. These are superb rifles. Very accurate and a reloader's dream. It's hard to believe these rifles go for $150. Typical Swiss quality in a WWII era service rifle.

Here are a couple of groups I shot today while
working with some DP86 powder. Rifles are scoped
and I have tinkered with the bedding some. Otherwise original configuration.

Hi: I've seen Swiss K31 Rifles sell for as low as $79. Mine cost $89 with a Walnut stock. I too got interested in the rifle's accuracy...got really good results with the iron sights...then from research found the Swiss Sniper's version with a scope...so decided to have a good gunsmith drill & tap mine for a top mount scope...now its scope mounted and I had to shim the rear base to make it work. I haven't tested it out with the scope yet, but will soon as the weather gets a little better, probably this Friday.
Best Regards,
Tom

White Bison

Please describe how you had your rifle drilled and tapped and what kind of "top mount" did you use? I'm curious as I'd like to know how you get the ejecting cases to clear the scope?

I'm using a steel German EAW (BTW, Graf sells a dural St.-Marie copy at 1/2 the price). The beauty of it is that it requires no D & T ; I switch mine between my 2 rifles in about a minute.

I was really amazed at the accuracy of the K-31's.

I'd had one sitting around for a couple years and finally got around to ordering in a St. Marie bolt-on mount and installed a really nice older steel tube Weaver 4x.

My best group thus far is one large jagged hole at 100 yds. with five rounds using Frontier/Graf brass....CCI BR-2 primers....165gr Sierra #2140 HPBT....43.5grs of Varget....OAL 2.820.

I own quite a few millitary bolt rifles from different countries and in my opinion the 6.5x55 Swedish Mausers, 7.62x54 Finnish M-39 Mosin Nagants and the 7.5x55 Swiss K-31's are the most accurate of any available.

Andre and Ike,

I assume that this mount you have is off-set to allow clearance of ejecting empties. The mount I used was a modified "scout" set-up, utilizing the rear sight as a base. I used a shotgun scope that had 4 inches of eye-relief and slid it back as far as I could before interfering with ejection.
